Zolmitriptan is a prescription medication that is used to treat migraines. This medication helps to relieve headache, pain, and other migraine symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light or sound. Zolmitriptan belongs to a class of drugs known as triptans. This medication works by affecting a certain natural substance (serotonin) that causes narrowing of blood vessels in the brain. It may also relieve pain by affecting certain nerves in the brain. Zomig will only treat a headache that has already begun. It does not prevent future migraines or lessen how often you get migraine attacks.
The common side effects may include: dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, nausea, tingling/numbness and weakness. More serious side effects may include:
• Bloody diarrhea;
• Blue fingers, toes or nails;

You should not use Zomig if you are allergic to Zolmitriptan or if you have any other allergies.
