Pizotifen 0.5mg Sandomigran 30 Tabs is used in the treatment of vascular headaches, including cluster headaches, vasomotor headaches and migraines (either atypical or typical). However, it is considerably less effective in the treatment of tension headaches and will not work at all for providing relief from an ongoing migraine attack. Medical experts are not entirely sure about what causes migraine attacks, however there is thought to be a link between dilation of the blood vessels in the brain and migraines. This medicine is a serotonin agonist and stops the serotonin receptors, which inhibits the contraction of the blood vessels. It also stops the action of histamine and tryptamine. All of this helps to prevent headaches.
Dosage and Administration
Sandomigran (Pizotifen Malate) comes as 0.5mg tablets which are taken by mouth. The tablets should be swallowed whole with a glass of water. Deciding on the correct dosage will be the responsibility of your physician, and individual factors will be taken into account. Remember that this medicine needs to be taken on a regular basis in order for it to effectively prevent headaches. In some cases, your physician may need to make changes to your dosage in order to achieve the most effective results. Never administer more medicine than your physician directs.

- Spinning sensation
- Appetite or body weight changes
